Five active ingredients, four supporting ones, and every amount printed on the box. Here is what each one is, where it comes from and how much a stick contains.
A supplement label is only useful if you can read it. This guide goes through the Slimqa Slim Coffee Booster ingredients one by one, in plain language, with the amount in each stick. When you want to see the product itself, the Slimqa home page is one click away.
The Supplement Facts panel, line by line
Serving size is 1 stick (2 g). A box contains 30 servings. Each stick has 5 calories.
| Ingredient | Form | Per stick | % Daily Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chromium | Chromium picolinate | 100 mcg | 286% |
| Caffeine | Powder | 120 mg | * |
| Green coffee bean extract | Extract of the bean | 100 mg | * |
| L-carnitine | Amino acid compound | 300 mg | * |
| Curcumin | Turmeric extract, 95% curcuminoids | 100 mg | * |
* Daily Value not established. Notice that chromium is measured in micrograms (mcg) while the rest are in milligrams (mg). A milligram is a thousand times larger than a microgram. That is normal for a trace mineral, which the body needs only in tiny amounts.
The Daily Value, or DV, is the reference amount the FDA uses on U.S. labels. Only nutrients that have one get a percentage. Caffeine, green coffee bean extract, L-carnitine and curcumin do not, which is why those rows show an asterisk.
Chromium picolinate: 100 mcg
Chromium is an essential trace mineral. You get small amounts from foods such as broccoli, whole grains, potatoes and some meats. In Slimqa it comes as chromium picolinate, a form in which chromium is bound to picolinic acid, which is how it often appears in supplements. One stick provides 100 mcg, or 286% of the Daily Value. Because that is well above 100%, it makes sense to add up any other supplement you take that also lists chromium, such as a multivitamin.
Caffeine: 120 mg
Caffeine is the best known stimulant in the world and the reason many of us reach for a mug in the morning. It occurs in coffee beans, tea leaves and cocoa. Each stick holds 120 mg. To put that in everyday terms, a typical 8 oz cup of brewed coffee commonly falls somewhere around 80 to 100 mg, though a large coffeehouse cup can contain much more. If you stir a stick into your usual cup, your total will be the sum of the two.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has said that for most healthy adults, up to about 400 mg of caffeine a day is not generally associated with negative effects. Your own tolerance may be lower, so pay attention to how you feel, and count soda, tea, chocolate and energy drinks as well.
Every ingredient, with its amount, in one place
Discover Slimqa now Dietary supplement. Not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet. Adults only (18+). Contains 120 mg of caffeine per stick.Green coffee bean extract: 100 mg
Coffee beans start out green. Roasting turns them brown and creates the familiar flavor. Green coffee bean extract is made from the unroasted bean and is sold as a powder. It can contain a small amount of caffeine of its own, so it is another reason to count your total. There is no Daily Value for it, and we make no health claim for it. Our dedicated page on green coffee bean extract covers the topic in more depth.
L-carnitine: 300 mg
L-carnitine is a compound made from amino acids. The body produces it in the liver and kidneys, and it also comes from food, mostly red meat, poultry, fish and dairy. A stick provides 300 mg. People who eat a lot of animal foods tend to take in more of it from meals, while vegetarians and vegans take in less, which is one reason it turns up in plant-based supplements. No Daily Value exists for it.
Curcumin: 100 mg
Curcumin is the main yellow pigment in turmeric, the root behind golden milk and a good many curries. The stick uses a turmeric extract standardized to 95% curcuminoids, which means that the extract is made up mostly of curcumin and its close relatives. You would need a lot of turmeric powder from the spice rack to match that concentration. One stick has 100 mg.
A note of caution: if you have gallbladder or liver conditions, or take blood thinners, talk to your doctor before using products with curcumin. Read more in our safety and suitability guide.
The other ingredients
These are not the headline items, but they shape how the powder mixes and tastes.
- Inulin is a fiber from chicory root. It helps the powder dissolve and gives it bulk.
- Natural flavor gives the drink its taste.
- Stevia leaf extract is a plant-based sweetener that adds sweetness without adding sugar.
- Black pepper extract is made from the same spice you grind over dinner.
The manufacturer describes the product as vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO. If you have a specific allergy or dietary need, read the box itself before you use it, since the packaging is what applies.
How the numbers add up across a day
Here is a quick example. Say you drink a 12 oz coffee at home and take one Slimqa stick. The stick adds 120 mg of caffeine on top of the coffee. If you also have an afternoon iced tea and a cola with dinner, the daily total grows further. None of that is a problem in itself, but it explains why we keep returning to the same advice: add it up before you add the stick.
The same logic applies to chromium. A multivitamin may list chromium already, and 286% of the Daily Value from the stick comes on top. Check each label you use, and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
How to read any supplement label
The same few habits work for every product on the shelf. First, find the serving size, because every number on the panel refers to it. Second, compare the unit: mcg and mg are not the same, and mixing them up is a common mistake. Third, look at the percent Daily Value where one exists, and remember that more than 100% is not automatically better. Fourth, read the line called other ingredients, which is where sweeteners, fibers and flavors are listed. Finally, check the warnings. They are short, and they exist for a reason.
What this guide does not do
We list what is in each stick and where it comes from. We do not claim that any ingredient treats, cures or prevents a condition. This is a dietary supplement. It does not replace a varied, balanced diet, and it is for adults only. Pregnant or nursing women should not use it, and anyone on medication should ask a doctor first.
